Bio: Michael Sandrock is a former University of Colorado track and cross country runner and honors graduate, and the author of "Running with the Legends" and "Running Tough." He has personal bests of 30:23 for 10K and 2:24:30 in the marathon. His undergraduate degree was in molecular, cellular and developmental biology, and he received a masters degree in business from CU. He worked as an organic chemist before becoming and award-winning journalist.
In 1986, Sandrock started the non-profit group "Shoes for Africa," now called "One World Running." The all-volunteer organization ships shoes to needy youth and puts on races around the world. Details: www.oneworldrunning.com
