The Boulder County commissioners will hold a public meeting at 4 p.m. Monday to discuss short-term vacation rentals.
The commissioners will consider a revised proposal on what rules should govern the rentals and public testimony will be taken. The meeting will be on the third floor of the county courthouse, 1325 Pearl St. in Boulder.
The issue of short-term vacation rentals was sparked last year when the Land Use Department received complaints from county residents about unapproved rental activity in unincorporated areas of Boulder County.

What ever happened to a property owner's rights? I'm in real estate and have been watching this phenomenon of "concerned neighbors" coming forward to complain about vacation rentals all over the state. Get serious people; I've yet to see an example of a vacation rental deteriorating the neighborhood. I can rent my home to someone for 6 months to a year, but not for one or two weeks. I'm even willing to pay the loding tax that everyone says vacation rentals are costing the city/county. I think it has more to do with those who have nothing better to do than to stick their noses in someone else’s business. Don't you have anything better to do? Mind your OWN yard; I'll mind mine!
