Domestic Violence Awareness Month October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and Beauty Brands locations havepartnered with Gateway Battered Women's Services and Safehouse Progressive Alliance for Nonviolenceto raise money for the local domestic violence shelters. Salon professionals sometimes find themselves on the front lines of domestic violence, because salons are considered "safe places" where abusers do not accompany their victims.
