"B" bus route affected by I-25 closure Thursday

Commuters riding RTD's B bus from Boulder to Denver will be re-routed around the closure of Interstate 25 Thursday afternoon.

The highway is being closed from around 5 p.m. until late at night while Democratic presidential nominee-to-be Barack Obama makes his acceptance speech at Invesco Field at Mile High.

Eastbound buses will follow U.S. 36 to southbound I-25 to eastbound I-70. Buses will exit on Brighton Boulevard and proceed toward downtown and Market Street Station, according to the Regional Transportation District.

Westbound B buses, from Denver to Boulder, will not be affected by the highway closure. They will use the HOV northbound lanes of I-25 to get from Market Street to U.S. 36.
